To the Lake with Family and Friends
There is something about Lago di Garda that keeps calling me back, mostly of course because my family is from there but it is actually an amazing place. This year I returned with an old friend to do the trip a bit differently. We rented a car and spent our days winding through the coastal roads, stopping for wine tastings and catching up with my relatives and family along the way.
Returning to La Torre for another night out with the local football team was a great experience. It is one of those places where the atmosphere is just right for reconnecting with the locals. But the real highlight of the trip happened out on the water.
We decided to rent a boat for the afternoon and planned a little surprise for my sister and her family. We picked them up at the dock with a few bottles of Franciacorta ready to go. We spent a few hours drifting on the lake, enjoying the sun and the bubbles.
Italy has a way of making the simple moments feel like the most important ones.
